SocialRinse Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 29, 2026
This policy explains how the SocialRinse Chrome extension handles information. SocialRinse helps you manage activity on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) using the social-media account already signed in to your browser.
Information SocialRinse handles
- Generated account credentials: The extension creates a random account ID and secret. It stores them in Chrome's local extension storage and sends them to Supabase to authenticate account requests.
- Usage and account status: Supabase receives the account ID, the cleanup option being used, and the account secret when checking or updating usage. The service maintains usage counters and paid status so it can apply the free-use limit and recognize paid accounts.
- Recovery information: If you use account recovery features, the extension sends a recovery code to Supabase for verification. The extension displays recovery codes for you to save. Do not share your account secret or recovery code.
- Checkout information: When you choose Buy, the extension sends the account ID and secret to the Supabase service to create a short-lived checkout handoff. During checkout it stores a Stripe checkout session ID and recovery code locally so it can confirm the purchase. Payment details are entered on Stripe's checkout page; the extension does not collect your card number.
- Extension settings and operation state: Chrome local extension storage may contain your selected platform and cleanup option, and temporary deletion progress such as whether a cleanup is active and its item count.
- Social-media page content: The extension reads page text and interface elements on Facebook or X to locate your activity and operate the controls you request. This processing happens in your browser. The extension code does not send the text of your posts, comments, likes, reposts, or videos to SocialRinse's Supabase service.
How information is used
SocialRinse uses account credentials to recognize and authenticate your extension account; usage counters and paid status to enforce the applicable cleanup limit; recovery information to restore account access; checkout information to associate a purchase with the correct account; and temporary local state to run cleanup and show progress.
The extension does not use social-media activity for advertising, profiling, or sale. It does not ask for your Facebook or X password. Cleanup actions are performed through the logged-in social-media page in your browser.
Services that receive information
- Supabase: Hosts SocialRinse account and usage services. It receives account IDs, account secrets for verification, cleanup-option usage, recovery requests, and checkout handoff/status requests.
- Stripe: Processes payment on its hosted Checkout page. SocialRinse's service creates a checkout session associated with the account being upgraded. Stripe handles the payment details you enter under its own privacy policy.
- Facebook and X: The extension operates on these sites using your existing signed-in browser session. Clicking their controls sends actions to the respective platform as part of its normal website operation. SocialRinse does not receive your platform password.
SocialRinse does not sell or rent account information. Information is shared with these providers only as needed to provide the features described above, protect the service, or meet legal obligations. Providers may process technical request information, such as timestamps and network information, under their own service terms and privacy policies.
Storage and retention
The account ID, account secret, extension settings, temporary cleanup state, and pending checkout details are stored in Chrome's local extension storage. They remain there until cleared by you or removed when the extension's stored data is removed from Chrome. You can clear the extension's stored data by removing its data or uninstalling the extension. Save any recovery code you need before clearing local data.
Supabase retains account, usage, paid-status, recovery, and handoff records for as long as needed to operate the account, enforce usage limits, process purchases, support account recovery, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. SocialRinse does not currently provide an automatic in-extension account deletion control or publish a fixed deletion schedule. You may request deletion using the contact instructions below. Provider backups and security logs may persist for a limited period under the provider's retention practices.
Stripe retains payment and transaction records according to its own policies and legal requirements. SocialRinse does not receive your full payment card details.
Security
Requests between the extension and SocialRinse's services use HTTPS. The account secret is an authentication credential; keep it and any recovery code private. No online service or local storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Access to Chrome's local profile or your device may expose information stored by the extension.
Your choices and requests
You can stop using the extension, clear its local data, or uninstall it. This removes local extension data but does not by itself delete server-side account records. To ask about, correct, or request deletion of account information, use the SocialRinse support page. The support form uses your recovery code only to verify your account; the code is never included in the support email.
Children
SocialRinse is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek to collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when SocialRinse's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we will provide an appropriate notice in the extension or its Store listing before the changed practice begins.
Contact
For privacy questions or account-data requests, use the SocialRinse support page. Your recovery code is verified securely and is not emailed.
